A well-equipped dormitory has been constructed for marginalized Chepang girls in Hangetar, Gajuri Gaonpalika Ward No. 1 of Dhading. The construction work of the residential Chepang dormitory is in the final stage with the objective of providing education to the girls of the marginalized Chepang community who are financially weak, have lost their parents and are forced to drop out of school due to various problems.
The foundation stone of the dormitory was laid by Prayas Nepal Dhading in partnership with Planet Infant and Development, France, District Coordinating Committee Dhading, Gajuri Village Municipality Dhading and Nepal Chepang Association Dhading on December 8.
Damodar Aryal, executive director of Nepal Dhading, said that the dormitory was constructed on an area of 4.5 ropanis.
Executive Director Aryal also said that the educational development of Chepang adolescents has been facilitated through facilitation to manage the migration when they come to get higher education from difficult geographical location. He said that the dormitory can accommodate Chepang girls from remote geography and deprived of education in Dhading district.
The Chepang girls are excited after the construction of a well-equipped dormitory. Apsara Chepang of Gajuri-3, Tarke said that she is happy to study in the dormitory. He said.
Chairman of Gajuri Village Municipality Rajendra Bikram Basnet said that the dormitory has been constructed in coordination and cooperation with development partners to help the Chepang girls from geographically difficult places for higher education.
Chairman Basnet said that they will continue their cooperation in the campaign of social transformation through education by assisting in the educational development for the adolescents with the commitment to provide necessary assistance in the proper use and management of the building.
