Prayash Nepal has partnership with Room to Read Program for Library Management and Reading Skill Program that seeks to address this issue by establishing children’s libraries in community's schools where poverty, ethnicity, or other social and cultural barriers put children at a significant educational disadvantage. The program major objective is to increase access and use of library resources for school and/or community members, increase literacy awareness in schools and/or communities and integrate library resources into children’s learning environments and Support sustainable Reading Rooms by improving school administration, librarian, and/or teacher capacity to ensure the libraries are well run. After establishment of library Room to Read and Prayas Nepal regularly support for three year, then it will totally handover to school. From the starting of this project now 178 schools have been covered. 14 schools have been handover to the school.

Major achievements/Changes:

• 35237 students and 1476 teachers have been benefitted from established Library by Room to Read and Prayas Nepal in 164 Schools of 40 Village Development Committee in Dhading Districts.
• Teachers have been applying new skills and using the different colourful books as a reference to make class more effective. There is a safe and joyful environment to the children so that they experience learning as a fun activity.
• Now children enjoy coming to school as they get to read different stories, poem, and dramas and so on in library.
• This has helped to retain the students. The number of absentees has also decreased and reading habits of children have been improved.
• Every library has established fund for the sustainability of library. Now some of the VDC allocated budget for school library management.
